On April 18th 2023, various ACT Professional Associations shared their expertise with Canberra’s 4th Year Bachelor of Education students (Early Childhood/Primary & Primary) as part of their final Education Studies unit -Transition into the Profession.

Each of the eight education associations represented at the Professional Associations Expo provided students with information about conferences, resources and workshops to enhance knowledge, skills and capabilities in various areas. These included Mathematics, Literacy, History, Special Education, Science, Information Technology, Modern Languages and teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages.

4th Year students explored the benefits of joining a Professional Association as they moved around the displays and engaged in activities.  There were lucky door prizes and morning tea provided (courtesy of the Council of ACT Education Associations (COACTEA). Many of the students joined at least one association on the spot and will now attend professional learning opportunities, which provides evidence of professional engagement for their employment portfolio. This an excellent networking opportunity for us all!

Thanks so much to the association representatives who came along on their holidays! We appreciate your dedication and enthusiasm very much.
